Buy a town and country mini van, get free DVD + $3K!

If you buy a Town and Country mini van from Chrysler before January 4th, you can get a free DVD player plus $3,000 bucks!

Chrysler is boosting sales prospects along with other auto manufacturers as they push to clear December inventorys. According to Auto Remarketing, an industry newsletter, the almost defunct company is offering incentives across the board. incentives include five year, zero rate financing, $3,000 cash back or service and maintenance for 36,000 miles or 3 years. Given the Chrysler's projected longevity, the 3 year deal may not be so hot.

The good news is the zero rate finance deal is available on the jeep brand of vehicles, as well. The cash back incentive is even better, $4,000 bucks! The service and maintenance deal is available too. That makes sense for a hard core four wheel drive guy who hits Brutal Red Cone Peak in Colorado!

The Dodge lineup is a little less generous. While the zero percent finance deal can be had, the cash back is only $2,500 bucks. An all wheel drive system can be added to the Dodge Charger at no cost, according to Auto Remarketing.

Buyers of the Dodge truck get a slightly less attractive deal. The rate increases to 2.9%, not nearly as good a bargain. The cash back offer is $2,500 smaks. The Dodge truck ranks

For those interested in Dodge cars, again, the choice is available of zero-percent financing for up to 60 months. Buyers can also opt to take $2,500 cash back. And if they want a Dodge Charger, an all-wheel drive system can be added at no extra cost.

For Dodge Ram Trucks, buyers can pick among three options: zero-percent financing for up to 48 months, 2.9 percent financing for up to 60 months or cash back up to $2,500.

If you are lucky enough to be able to afford a new set of wheels in this sad economy, then this is a good time to take advantage of these incentives. Dealers are further motivated by tax law that assesses a 1% inventory tax on unsold units, a bitter pill to swallow by an industry hard hit from imports and the economic climate.

NADA Offers $200 Bucks To Conventioneers

The publishers of the NADA pricing books, those yellow price guides most consumers use to buy a car, announced it will offer $200 bucks to people who attend it's convention in Orlando Florida February 13-15 of 2010.

NADA calls it the "NADA stimulus package", likely a subtle joke on the many stimulus packages offered through congress this past season. The $200 will be paid in the form of vouchers. Those lucky enough to receive a voucher can redeem their free money on goods offered from convention exhibitors.

National Automobile Dealers Association members will be receiving details by mail, according to Dealer Marketing, an industry magazine. US Automobile dealers have been hit hard by the worst economy in generations. The incentive is designed to encourage attendance at the 'yellow book' of price guides. NADA has stiff competition with Kelly Blue Book and Edmunds.

Denver Auto Dealer Anounces Huge Roll Back On Used Vehicles

US Autos Direct, llc, a Denver based automobile dealer announced it's new direct to consumer program today.

"Our concept has always been to take small markups and vehicles and do a volume business" said CEO and founder, Tim Paynter.

US Autos Direct now offers direct to auto auction pricing.

"We actually take you into the auction so you can pick your own vehicle" Paynter said.

The way it works is buyers go with the dealer a day or so before the auction. They pick out up to 7 vehicles. They name a price they are willing to pay and the US Autos Direct, llc will bid on the vehicle.

"If we can get you the price you want then you have yourself a new car!"

Paynter said buyers can save thousands of dollars on their next set of wheels. As a general rule, the more expensive the vehicle, the more a buyer can save!

"We add on a flat fee cost" Paynter said. "You know exactly what the price is, and you get a great deal on top!"

Paynter said the buyer will get a 30 day temporary tag with his purchase. He also will get an emissions voucher.

"You can't buy 'em cheaper than that, I don't think!" said Paynter.

US Autos Direct works by appointments and interviews with the client before they go to the auction. Buyers must have the full purchase price of the vehicle before the bid is made.

"This is just like any other auction" Paynter said. "Once the gavel slams down you bought yourself a car!"

Buyers have nothing to lose by giving it a try. The service does not cost anything unless the consumer buys a car. Why pay thousands of dollars more when you can get a car for a great price?

Chinese cheapies to be sold at Sam's Club?

A Mexican based auto importer, GS motors, may bring their marketing concept to the US. GS Motors imports 4000 cars a year to Mexico. They like the Chinese product from First Auto Works, a/k/a FAW.

The chief executive officer of GS Motors, Kathleen Ligocki, a former Ford marketing strategist, says the Mexican firm has a unique marketing concept. Instead of selling through the traditional dealer network, they market through big box stores. Yes, there are Costco's in Mexico!

GS motors has been so successful it is building it's first assembly plant in Michoacan, MX. They expect units to roll off of the line in 2010. Anyone who knows the Mexican construction system knows these plans might be delayed a bit. Still, the company is in full motion!

The lineup will include the ZX40 which is a small van electric. It is not designed to go long distances. Still, with gas prices likely to rise, electric is the car propulsion system of the future! The big box stores will also be well stocked with the f1 Hatchback costing as little as $5,500.00. Of course, $5,500 in Mexico is a fair sum of money. To a US buyer it is only a drop in the hat!

The ZX40ST electric work truck features an all steel body with side impact doors. It is dot compliant with seatbelts and tempered safety glass. It has a heating and defrosting system, and just important to most consumers, air conditioning, although optional. With a 35 mile distance and battery replacement at 25,000 miles, it is going to be an expensive and ultimately unpopular vehicle. Worse is it's price, rolling off of the line at $19.000 plus bucks!

Selling a vehicle through Sam's Club or Costco is one thing. Service is another. Such a move may require stores to retro-fit for vehicle service. Stores that have already been built to maximize their lot size may have a difficult time finding room for service bays.

Discount stores like Costco are known to drop a product like a rock if it does not sell. Getting dealerships approved will be another thing. Local opposition will surely exist from traditonal car dealers. In Colorado, dealers are not allowed to sell non-automovtive products. Costco has been inventive in getting around these roadblocks with it's liquor stores, which are stores within a store in Colorado.

Chinese auto makers may not have the same success as the Japanese manufacturers like Honda and Toyota. Americans demand a reliable car, even if it is cheap, cheap, cheap. Even if the quality is there, the Chinese face an image problem as their Wall mart products have so often been a failure.

Still, an auto company that brings a fairly reliable car to the US that costs centavos has a chance. The typical business model is to market to the lower end market. As the product is put on the road and gathers attention the foreign auto company builds a better, more expensive product. In time, the Chinese might put the Japanese to shame, and the few US auto makers left will have an even tougher time keeping up!

Why buy a cheap car like a Lexus when you can buy a Porche?

If you want to buy a luxury car then December is the time to do it! Dealers who have excess inventory on December 31st get the privilege of paying inventory tax on their excess inventory. It is one thing to pay tax on 50 Toyotas. Try the same thing on 50 Porsche's!

Normally, Porsche is not too worried about it's US dealers. Demand for their flashy wheels has been stable and strong. However, with an economy in the depths of despair not seen for decades, Porche has decided to give their US dealers a hand. If you buy an 2009 911, Boxter or Cayman before the end of the year, Porsche will give you a 1.9% interest rate on your purchase. What is in it for Porche? Keeping it's dealers in business is one thing. There are not as many rich guys as there used to be!

Of course, you have to have stellar credit and loads of disposable income to quality for the Porsche deal. While Porsche wants to help out it's dealers the luxury motor car company knows how to stay in the black. They also know how to draw in the prospects. While nearly every sports car buyer is attracted by a super low interest rates, a fair share can't quality and Porsche knows that. These are precisely the kind of buyers who insist on buying a fancy car that puts them into debt up to their gills. There will be plenty of buyers who come looking for the low rate and who roll out paying market bank rates instead.

The low interest rate financing plan has worked well for Porsche. At the end of November Porsche ended a similar finance offer on it's Cayman. It was almost too successful. But with heavy inventory still left to sell, Porsche wisely brought the program back to life.

If you want a luxury sports car, Porsche is a great choice this year. At the same time, Lexus, BMW with their 325 series and Mercedes Benz have some pretty good financing and low rate deals going on. Deep discounts for cash may be had, and there is the traditional lease deal, as well. Be sure to shop around!
